No participant's entry will be accepted without a signed waiver form. Please fill out additional registration/waiver forms for passengers and additional paddlers.

Applications for the largest and second oldest canoe race in the country will be mailed in early March and will be available on the web site (www.canoemarathon.com). They may also be obtained by writing to Des Plaines River Association, P. O. Box 61, Lemont, Illinois 60439 or calling the Hot line 847-604-2445.

Mail in Registration

$18.00 per person
Completely fill out one entry form for each team entered. Mail each entry form, along with your check or money order for the correct amount to:

Race Day Registration

On-site registration will be available at the starting line until 9:30AM, at a cost of $30.00 per person.
However, registration is limited to the first 1000 craft, and you are not guaranteed registration on race-day.

General Information

  • No participant's entry will be accepted without a signed waiver form. Please fill out additional registration/waiver forms for passengers and additional paddlers.
  • Each team's boat numbers and starting time will be mailed back to paddler No. 1 approximately two weeks before the start of the race. For entries received after May 13, 2008, race numbers/packets must be picked up at the starting line the morning of the race before 9:30AM.
  • Group heats will be available, however, teams wishing to race as a group must send their entry forms in the same envelope.
  • More information on the specifics of the marathon can be found on the Rules and Regulations page.

    All participants and passengers must be registered and sign the official waiver of liability.
