Early March holds lots of potential, but not a lot of reality for foraging. So an afternoon canoe trip yesterday resulted in totally different findings.

Friends of the Rouge, a non-profit organization dedicated promoting restoration and stewardship of the Rouge River, will be participating in the 15th Annual Water Quality Symposium for the second year in a row.

The American Canoe Association, The Brevard College WLEE Program, and several area sponsors will host a new canoeing and kayaking event, Southeast Canoe & Kayak Collegiate Championships, March 27-28 on the Tuckaseegee River.

Police in Raymond confirmed Monday night that the body of a canoeist who disappeared late last week has been found in the Exeter River.
